Cherokee Health Systems to Open a New Pharmacy in Morristown
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – Cherokee Health Systems (CHS) is pleased to announce the opening of its renovated pharmacy in Morristown. After months of construction, the organization is eager to showcase the new 560 square-foot, full-service pharmacy to the community and to provide high-quality services to underserved individuals and families. Located inside CHS’ Morristown Health Center, 815 West 5th North Street, the new pharmacy will allow patients to access their medication immediately following their primary care and/or behavioral health appointments. CHS is hosting a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, Aug. 2nd, 2024, to unveil the upgraded service to community partners. The pharmacy will officially open as a service for CHS patients on Monday, Aug. 5th, 2024.
“This pharmacy will improve the way we provide care to the community! Up until this point, we’ve only been able to provide telepharmacy services in Morristown. Now, patients will have access to more medication resources and an on-site pharmacist, specializing in providing individualized care,” said CHS’ Stacy White, PharmD, director of pharmacy.
The pharmacy will provide CHS patients with affordable and convenient medication services, regardless of health insurance status. Financial assistance will be available to those who are uninsured or underinsured. The pharmacy team will assist in filling prescriptions, giving medication consultations, providing Medication Therapy Management, and more.
Tate Messer, PharmD, will lead the pharmacy team in Morristown. He studied at East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy and brings over eight years of industry experience to the team. Dr. Messer is looking forward to the impact this pharmacy will have on the community.
“Our rural communities are underserved and face various health disparities, causing many to go without their medications due to cost and lack of convenience. This pharmacy will allow patients to save time and money as they address their health needs all in one place,” said Dr. Messer.
